Finding Your Violin's Unique Voice

Research by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) reveals that nine in ten children want to learn a musical instrument. Among the many to choose from, a violin ranks one of the most popular ones. Not only this small instrument often leads an entire orchestra, but also, it can play many beautiful solo and ensemble repertories.

But soon, one might realize that it's not so easy to tame this small instrument, nor does it sound as beautiful as recordings. Frustrated and disappointed, one might be easily turned off and stop pursuing the violin.

I was in the same shoes until I found my violin's unique voice. I used to think that mastering fingerings would help me become a great performer, but it wasn't enough -- although having that skill set is a plus! I needed to find the voice of the violin that only I can play out of my instrument. My hope for you is that you will find yours too.

Let's begin this journey to discover a newfound passion and voice for your violin. I will walk alongside you and be there to guide you. I promise that once you test the waters, you will fall in love with the violin!

Studio Policy

1. TUITION

  •  Tuition is submitted monthly and is due in the first week of each month.

  •  Tuition covers the basic costs of instruction as well as other expenses of operating a studio and weekly lesson instruction, student music materials, lesson tools and

individualized plans for the student’s course of study.

Lesson fees are due on the first lesson of each month. A late fee ($20) will be charged

2. CANCELLATION/RESCHEDULING LESSONS
If a student cancels a lesson, there are no make-up lessons, or tuition adjustments given for any reason. By reserving a time for the term, you have committed to a weekly lesson time for you and nobody else. Students must make every effort to come to their lesson. However, we also offered alternative ways.

Synchronous Virtual Lesson: You can request a Zoom lesson by noon of the scheduled lesson date.

Advanced notice is needed to set up and run your lesson smoothly.

Asynchronous Virtual Lesson: If you are unable to attend the lesson virtually or in person, send a recording of the student’s homework or practice video with questions via email 24 hours before the lesson. The instructor will review the student’s recording and send over her feedback to guide the student’s practice for the next lesson during the regular lesson time.

Even if you have to miss a lesson and cannot use the alternatives offered, you will be receiving more energy, enthusiasm and a more successful lesson each week since I will use that time to find more research, lesson planning etc.

3. The instructor may cancel a session without prior notice but a makeup lesson will be guaranteed

4. Students are encouraged to participate in concerts and masterclasses when there are opportunities to do so

5. The summer schedule (June to Aug) is flexible.
